Embedding Form in Page

Using version 3.0.1.1

In O365, I have exported a form that I created for a list and am attempting to embed the form in both a Wiki Page as well as within a CEWP on a publishing page. When clicking the "New Form" button within the Insert section of the ribbon, the "Forms Designer" modal dialog is appearing but the dialog is blank. I've confirmed that the same experience is seen in Chrome, IE 11, and Edge. One other observation is that with one of the more recent versions, when invoking Forms Designer on a list, there is no longer the option to develop the forms inside the browser (IE) - instead, the designer app must execute outside of the browser.

I have checked with a few older site collections where we have an earlier version of SPForms (2.8.9.0) and both the embedding of exported forms in pages works and I can still design the forms within the browser.

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,
Unfortunately, this option is not available anymore because MS restricted uploading xap files (Silverlight applications) to SharePoint Online. We're working on a new designer that will support modern pages and publishing forms to any pages.

Thanks for the heads up, Dmitry.

While this might not be optimal (and I haven't done a tremendous amount of testing), if after publishing a form to a list you then navigate to the form page and go into edit mode, you can then export the form web part to a file and then import that web part into a page.

Right, not very straightforward. But ok as a temporary workaround. Thank you!

Hi,

I am trying to embed a form in classic page, I did export the form but import in the web parts doesn't seem to work. Any workarounds?

Hello, Siseto!
In order to save the Form, open the Form in your browser and select Edit Page:

Then click Export:

Finally Import the Form where you need to, also using Edit Page:

Hello, Max!
Unfortunately no, Related Items control cannot be imported to another page properly.
