permanent attachment

Is it possible to have a permanent attachement embedded in the form. (Say in the edit form). I need to create a system that has numerous lists/rates/costs/resources/travel/procurement/flights/hire cars etc, and think an excel document may handle it easier?

Well, you can use an Excel Web Access web part in a form:

In a list view, click List -> Form Web Parts, pick a form and add the Excel Web Part onto your form page.
