I have a form with a related item and when I add a related item it opens the related items new form in a window. once the user saves the new item i would like to redirect to the edit form or that related item.

The redirect works if I add an item straight to the list but not when launched as a related item. Is there a special way of redirecting for these popups?

Do you mean thta you want to redirect users to the edit form of the related item that just has been added from a parent form? What if the parent form has been modified?

When the related item is created the edit of the releted item that was created should open in a popup. Then once that is edited and saved. The user is returned to the parent form where it can complete the edit.

Unfortunately, you cannot configure redirection between forms in a dialog.
