Tabs with child tabs - orientation

We've got a fairly complex use case where we need tabs that contain sub-tabs (or child-tabs). We have the parent tab set to left (vertical) orientation and we are trying to set the child tabs to top (horizontal) orientation. However, the child tabs don't seem to honor their own layout setting and display as left (vertical) tab.

Thank you very much for your message. We have resolved this issue in the latest version of Forms Designer (2.8.3). Please, download it from our website, run setup-file and choose 'Upgrade' option. Open your form in Forms Designer and re-save it.

Is there a way to fix this without an SPForms upgrade? We are in a shared environment and unable to upgrade. Can it be fixed with CSS or javascript?
