One related item in another

I have an edit form with related item that opens via dialogue and inside it there is another related items that is filled out via grid. Everything works fine if i don't restrict delete. As soon as i add Cascade delete for the child list - it won't permit me to save those grid related items - keeps saying that the look up field in not populated (this is the ID field which is suppose to be populated with the code you have in your article). If i am removing Cascade delete from lookup field - everything works great. I really need to have that delete function, any ideas how i can do that?

What's your SharePoint edition, online or on-premises?
