Way to obtain permission group of people picker choice

Hello,

I have working code that can return the value of the permission group of the logged in user and store that in another field.

I would like to know if it is possible to obtain the permission group of a people picker field choice upon form submission.

For example, when adding a task to my Task list, when the form is submitted the code would check which user the task was assigned to, obtain their permission group, and save that group in another field.

Any assistance you can provide is appreciated.
