The box looks great, but only brings in a few characters and saves those characters.

Dear David,
What do you mean, can you show us an example? I suspect that you might be talking about formatting, like Rich Text formatting. When it is saved in Plain Text field, it's often visible as HTML tags, etc. Is that so? A screenshot might help.

If this is not desirable, an alternative to this method might be simply adding a new multiline text field to the form, and then using it to display text from your field which will remain hidden. When saved, copy text from the multiline field inside of yours.
Cheers

The text in the list is:
Overall Good status <<Summary: Protocol 4/7. Table shells 4/7. Official kick-off week of 3/14 (2 studies, 1 agreement). Sufficient fees

The kendo text box shows:
Overall Good status <

I edited the text to remove the < symbol and the saved field now shows:
Overall Good status

I found the issue to be the double less than symbol was creating the issue. I deleted them and it works as expected. <<

Thank you again.

David
