Grouping not working properly

The image below should be pretty self explanatory, grouping by category and you can see the category column there. This is in an forms designer related items view.

Group by and Totals work fine in our tests. Here is an example of Related Items:

I'm not sure what causes weird behavior on your site, but can you provide us more information?

We'll need to know what version of SharePoint you are using and version of your Forms Designer. You can tell us about Category field - is it a Choice or a Lookup? We'll also need to know configuration of Related Items:

Additionally, you can let us know if there is anything special about grouping you are doing. I've tried to replicate your setup, but if I got something wrong with Group by or Totals - let me know!

As an experiment, you can try switching Related Items Render mode to Server and see if it works or not:
