Drop Down (Person List)

On a form I have a drop down list for a person/ Group. In sharepoint I have set the column settings to "Choose from" a certain group.

I was expecting that a user that was not in this group would still be able choose a user from the group however, on their screen they get "The control is not available because you do not have the correct permissions"

Is there a way (Without having to add this user to the group) of giving them the ability of using the person picker with the filter on the specific users?

does this make sense?

Hello, Roo!
The problem here lies in how the group itself was setup. You need to make sure that the members of the group assigned to People picker can be seen by everyone, so that users from other groups can edit the field.

Sorry for the delay in getting back. I'm still a little confused on this as I have about 5 people picker groups within a form. All are set to sharepoint groups, but have the can be viewed by anyone checked. However, when I type a users name in the picker using a member of another group they do not show ("No record found").
When I use my account - I'm a member of all groups while i test it I can see all members.
if I use a group member of one group and start typing my own name I can see it?

I didn't start with the the "can be viewed by anyone" - I changed it after a while. Is there a issue with it holding old permissions?

Not sure if the problem is with Forms Designer. Just to double check, try to create a new list and add same people picker fields to it, or you can export the form and then reset it to default one.
If these fields on default form will work fine, unlike the ones on the custom form, then we will try to give better recommendations on what to do, but otherwise we are unsure of what causes it.
