JSLink and custom forms

We wanted to override the rendering of a particular field that we add via the Forms Designer. Normally, (for a form that had not been customized), we would specify a link to the CSR via the JSlink field. For a custom form customized via the Forms Designer, this is not available.

There seems to be a JSlink property link for each field available via the Forms Designer. Is this where we would specify the link to our CSR field? Else, what is this property used for? If this is not the way to link to a CSR file, then what is the best way via Forms Designer.

You're right, Forms Designer does not support JSLink but provides an alternative way to customize controls:

As for JSLink property in the designer, it's applicable to views only.
