Is it possible to bind/set the value of a list column when a drop down list is changed?

Hi,

I would like to set the value of a related list column from a lookup field to a plain text field. When a user changed the item of a lookup field, another related field value (for example a description) of the data source list should be displayed in a plain text field of the form. How can I realize that?
