Hey there,

I've just started using the form designer, and have managed to install it to my sites/subsites and get the desktop editor working. What I can't seem to do is do anything with my exported form files. I go into edit mode in my sharepoint site, but where the tutorial video shows in the "insert" tab I'm supposed to have a Forms Designer button, I simply have nothing. I'm still able to access the application itself from sharepoint, but can't actually put any of my cool forms into sharepoint without access to this button!

Any ideas? I've already double checked my admin permissions to use the app (all seems fine), and tried it on different sites/subsites with the same results.

Any help would be much appreciated,
Thank you :)

Dear gameshark11,
Please, try to follow an updated article here - https://spform.com/styling/publish-desi ... te-updated
Older functionality relied on Silverlight and might not work with all browsers/SharePoint versions, this one is essentially the same, but works in all situations.
Cheers

Thanks for the quick reponse Nikita. I understand most of the instructions and tried a couple things based on your article, but I have the sense that a step is missing between 1) and 2). When I save the form for example, should i have EDIT NEW and DISPLAY all checked? When I save the form it says its saved, but I'm not able to find an actual location for where its saved.

For step 2) how should I go about opening the form in my browser? Should I open the original (non form designer) list and mess with it from there? or is there some intermediate step between 1 and 2 that I'm missing regarding some sort of "Save As" function?

p.s. I am using the desktop application, and have been able to make a form based on a list (even in a subsite)

Thanks for your time,
David C

Dear David,
By default, all our forms replace default List or Library forms, so if you save a New Form, when you click Add new item for this list, you will see your form. If you save Edit Form, you will see this form when you edit an item. Same is true for Display form.

Publishing forms is an extra functionality, if you want users to be able to interact with the list without actually going to it.
Cheers

Oh man, I feel so dumb now! Finally fixed it...I was under the impression that the form replaced the list view....but it in fact replaces the add record view in sharepoint.

All working as promised...thank you!
